Leslie Shotwell I have been a health and fitness enthusiast for over 19 years. After graduating from West Chester University with a BS degree in Public Health, I became a community health educator for the American Heart Association. My focus was to educate the public on nutrition, fitness, and disease prevention. After five years with the AHA, I decided to become an Independent Educator for The Center of Humainstic Change. I became certified in many programs such as bullying prevention, self-esteem building, communications skills and many others, which I implemented in local schools. After 5 years of working full-time with the CHC, I decided to work on an as needed basis so I could stay at home and raise my children. Durning my years at home, I became a Holistic Wellness Coach and an aromatherapist.
I have started to work more in the schools recently and saw the impact that low self-esteem has on many children. For instance, one child said to me, "When I am myself, no one likes me and when I try to be someone else, they still don't like me!" This statement was my wake up call that I needed to do something to empower children.... Girl Power was born!!
